After years of working as an Interior Designer, Project Co-ordinator and Project Management Specialist in the new construction remodel industry, Annette turned her attention and focus to specializing in providing kitchen and bath design services with custom-designed cabinetry. She developed and operated a brand-new Kitchen and Bath showroom in Orange County, California where she designed, created and installed a variety of styles of kitchens, bathrooms and whole-house remodel projects throughout Southern California.

As is typical in remodeling, many projects brought with it a new General Contractor and learning his own unique style of communication. Annette realized that after spending a typical 4 to 6 months in the design process with a client and developing a good working relationship that most home-owners prefer to continue their communication throughout the remodel process with their confidant/designer. After the design process but prior to construction is when most contractors enter into the middle of this unique client-relationship. Generally, in most states a designer cannot legally hire the contractor for the project; nor are they to directly supervise them. In these unique circumstances it's easy to see how quickly this relationship can be challenging on a good day... and all parties can easily find themselves stepping on each other toes, especially as everyone figures out their place and how best to communicate in this triangulated relationship.

The contractor-designer dance can be a waltz or a two-step that's off-beat... over the years, Annette has had the pleasure to work with fabulous Contractors creating a team collaboration, and knows first hand the issues that can develop!
